Did you see when they crucified the Lord?

'Where you there when they crudified my Lord?' asks the song. The answer is 'Yes, we were.' By our unwillingness to 'break', we show that we were part of that crowd killing Him at calvary. And our gentle Lamb was willing for them, and us to do it, in order that, when at last we repent, there might be precious blood to secure our forgiveness and to cleanse us from all sin.

May this solemn thought break our proud hearts in repentance! For it is only when we have seen these sins of ours in the heart of Jesus, so that we are broken and wiling to repent of them and put them right, that the blood of the Lamb cleanses us from them and the Dove returns to perch on us with peace and blessing to our hearts.
