LIC3 Prayer Room

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

--Matthew 11:28-30

Greetings!

Naniniwala po ako na one of the best investments na maaari nating gawin
in this life ay ibigay ang Salita ng Diyos sa isang people group na wala
pang Bible in their own language, and especially to those unreached like
the tribes of Nepal and the Himalayas. Unang-una, because sabi ni Jesus,
“The world shall pass away but my word shall never pass away. Not one
jot or one tittle shall pass away.” The Bible is an eternal investment.
Pangalawa, I believe that people need to have God’s word in their own
language for them to fully understand and benefit from it. In fact, sa
Acts 2:8 sinasabi na ang unang-unang miracle ni God after the giving of
the Holy Spirit was a miracle of translation! Everyone in the audience
heard Peter’s sermon each in their own native language. For me this goes
to show that God himself wants people to hear his words in the language
of their hearts, because the message of salvation is a message coming
from the very heart of God.

I have been privileged to be trained for six years in the seminary, four
years in biblical studies and two years in applied linguistics for
translation. I left my stable job as a researcher in the Office of the
President so I can follow God’s call. Through all these years God has
called many people to be my partner and through them has supported me
financially. In fact, the best thing I learned in the seminary is not a
lesson in the classroom, but a lesson in experience. Wherever God
guides, ika nga nila, God provides. And also, that we as Christians are
not to work alone, but he has called us to partner with other
Christians, for each of us has been given gifts for the edification of
his church and through these partnerships develop loving relationships
with God and with each other.

It has been a very humbling experience for me to leave my job and then
go around asking people to support me financially. This is against all
our instincts which drive us to be independent. But I believe this is
part of God’s call for my life. To be humbled in such a way as even
Jesus was humbled. Jesus himself never turned any stone into bread for
himself, but lived on the support of others (Luke 8:3).

When I go back to Nepal, initially, I will be helping in the East Tamang
Language Project (ETLP) in translating the Bible and teaching the people
how to read and write. It is my prayer that through bible study
materials being used for literacy classes, that churches will be built
among the East Tamang. As of the moment, I am aware of only a handful of
believers. Nepal is a Hindu land. Every corner street is marked with
shrines for idols, holy trees and stones. People wear a circle of powder
in their foreheads to mark their devotion to these false gods. But I see
them as our long lost brothers and sisters who badly need to hear God’s
word. I pray that you feel called by God to partner with me financially
and in prayer in reaching the peoples of the Himalayas.

To help you decide how much to pledge, I have partners that give
P200/month, P500/month, P1000/month, P2000/month and three who are able
to pledge P5000/month. My greater need is to find regular partners. By
God’s provision I have already received monthly pledges of $835.00 but I
need about $200.00 more. I pray that before this month ends I can
fulfill this requirement by the mission organization (Wycliffe SIL-South
Asia Group) I am joining in Nepal. Unless I fill this quota they will
not allow me to come. I am committed to work in Nepal for 4 -10 years. I
hope your commitment will be in the long term as mine.

My prayer is that you are one of those called by God to make this
ministry a reality and get me to Nepal. I trust that he will richly pay
you back as Paul has promised the Philippians who has generously
supported his missionary work, “And my God will fully satisfy all your
needs according to his riches in Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19).”

You can send your pledge to me through the church by simply marking your
donation envelopes “For Ting Bejo”. I already have made arrangement with
the Church Admin through Dr. Rey Taniajura to receive pledges on my behalf.

God Bless,

Ting Bejo

Prayer Letter From Lebanon

Dear friends,

Warm greetings, as always, from Beirut. As we enter the fifth week of destruction, death, and displacement, we can still rejoice and count our blessings. The source of our hope and encouragement is God's Word. With such a privilege comes responsibility. As we are daily nourished by the Scriptures, we feel the increasing burden to share the life-giving message of God's Word. Following is a list of blessings that we are enjoying through the comfort of the Holy Spirit:

  • 20 of our church members have evacuated the country just in time; a few hours' delay may have complicated the matter immensely.
  • All our church members and their families are safe;
  • The church office and center open to support the refugees need .
  • We are meeting each Sunday at 10:30 AM for prayers and then Sunday Service at 11:00 AM.
  • We have been overwhelmed with emails and phone calls from our friends, all over the world. These communications have been very encouraging  and rewarding; we feel so appreciated, loved and cared for.
  • Thousands of Scriptures have been distributed in various places with a package of food ,blanket, medicines ,soap,etc...
  •  And we are planning many more.
  • Electricity, telephone and internet lines have remained relatively reliable.
  • The list can go on... But we are fortunate compared to a million population who have lost their homes, properties, loved ones ... and hope! We pray that through our humanitarian program, the Scriptures would reach those who really need to encounter the comforting good news of the Gospel's message.

and after a long week of bombing the southern suburb of Beirut, they bombed of four road bridges north of Beirut. 8 of our church members live close to these bridges and they were not able to come to the Church on Sunday.but thank God for His mercies.
  • Please continue to pray for us, for safety and protection, and for our relief work.Pray for our brothers and sister in the south of Lebanon , Pray specifically for a cease-fire and a political solution to this complicated situation. Pray that gasoline supply will remain available (there are now long queues in front of all fuel stations) and for the supply of electricity and basic food items. Most importantly, pray for peace, the real peace that only God can provide.
  • Special thanks for the (Bible Land Mission-Singapore, Rev.Samuel Doctorian ,staff & Friends) & ( The Greek Evangelical Church,Larnaca -Cyprus .Bro.Theo Demson)

    Sincerely in Christ,
    Gabi

    Dear lic3 users.

A prayer request has been sent to me by our missionary/tent-maker in Quatar, Bro. Roger Dela Cruz.

     1. Prayer for God's protection and approval as they are about to start a Bible study group in the house of one who recently come to know the Lord. Our prayer should be focus on the soverignty of God in calling all people into His Kingdom.

    2. For the covering of Bro. Roger  as he shares the gospel to those God has appointed to hear at the appointed time.

    3. For wisdom and discreation, as they are in the area of hostile environment. that they may be wise as serpent yet harmless as doves.

    4. For the strengthening of thier faith as well as ours. That we may constantly do the work of God, which is to believe in Jesus the Christ, the one whom He has sent.

    5. For the victory over souls that God is about  to do in our time. that we may witness His wonderful and awesome power to save those who are perishing.

    Dear God,

You are a great God. Strong and Mighty to save. I pray that You will intervene on behalf of your children who fears your name and worship You in love and truth. That You will somehow show the way that the leaders of our nations will find a way to bring peace in the land of Israel.

You said in your word that, "you will not leave us abondoned." We rest in that promise. May your glorious will be done in us.

    Amen!
